  • Posted on

If you like fewer crowds, lower prices, and winter charm, then Pigeon Forge is definitely the place to be in January. With January and February being the off-season, that means shorter lines, easier parking, and basically no traffic!! This means a vacation that is definitely stress-free, which is something we could all use after the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holiday. Enjoy the festive lights of Winterfest (without the crowds) and the unique beauty of the snow-dusted mountains. Then head back to the condo to relax in front of the fireplace or head down to the indoor pool complex and enjoy the heated pool or the hot tub.

January Events and Activities

Of course, Winterfest is still going strong with millions of lights shining bright along the Parkway and The Island, with free walking trails and driving tours available.
Bundle up and head to Ober Mountain and enjoy the indoor ice skating rink or snow tubing at the Snow Zone which features various slopes for the young and old. Don’t enjoy the cold winter air? No problem! Grab the family and head to Indoor Snow to enjoy indoor snow tubing or play in the snow in the temperature controlled environment and build a snowman and make snow angels.
It’s always a great time to take scenic drives to see frozen waterfalls, snow-covered forest and just to explore the beauty of the Smoky Mountains.
Wilderness Wildlife Week is an annual event that takes place in Pigeon Forge in January. This is a free, family-friendly convention that celebrates the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This event begins on Monday, January 5 and takes place at the LeConte Center on Teaster Lane. Enjoy a variety or programs, classes, seminars, exhibits and guided hikes for all skill levels and ages.
After a fun-filled day, wind down and catch a nightly show at The Comedy Barn or Dolly Parton's Stampede (which is one of our favorites).
